Along with the Lake, the Long Meadow defines Olmsted’s masterly vision for the entire park. It is nearly a mile long—making it the longest unbroken stretch of lawn in any park in America. The seemingly endless rolling green invites picnics, frisbee, and lollygagging in summertime, sledding and snow angels come winter.
